We're looking for a capable, energetic individual to take the French & Grace street food stall to various London locations once or twice a week, starting with 1 day/week in Kings Cross starting in February - this will be the same day every week for a year. Soon after, and banking on the success of your pitch management, we'll be looking to grow to cover other sites on other days, namely at Moorgate and The Gherkin.
The course of a typical street food day looks like this:
8am: Collect hire van in Brixton, load it at storage unit in Dulwich, stop at French & Grace restaurant in Brixton Village to collect food stock
9.15am: Drive to site, build stall
10.30am: Prep any remaining foodstuffs
11.30am/12pm: Stall opens
3pm: Pack, wash and clear up. Return leftover stock to F&G. Unload and return van
4.30pm/5pm: Finish
The F&G restaurant will prep the majority of food a day in advance for the street food team to collect en route. Additional tasks may include booking the hire van, managing the till, placing food orders, washing up, replacing gas canisters, updating certificates and street food manuals etc etc - this is routine and will form part of your training. None of it is difficult but it's all vital that it's handled correctly, carried out safely and looked after very carefully.
We are looking for staff who are 100%:
Clean, efficient, timely, practical, responsible, able to think on their feet and act and serve food quickly and safely.
Able to work well in a team, take and give orders
Train and brief any additional members of staff
Be fully trained in food hygiene to Level 2 (we can provide this)
Be fully trained in the whole system of our street food stall from start to finish (we will provide this training)
At least one member of the team will need a clean UK driving license and be comfortable with and experienced in driving vans
Be able to speak and read English to a high level
Ideally we would like to take on a team of 2 to work the same day every week. Pay will be made as a flat daily rate and will be discussed at interview stage.
This is a fun, sociable job that takes you to some of the best sites in London, serves some of our best customers and varies from day to day but is best suited to grafters and strong, hardy types who don't mind being in the great outdoors and being physically challenged! This would be the perfect job for someone looking for fixed working days and a steady source of part-time income, with a view to going up to a few days a week.
Please apply via email with a covering letter, CV and at least 2 references with contact details.
