We are currently recruiting for an on-site Desktop Support Engineer based in Hamilton. Due to the demand and fast moving environment of IT support, the ability to work under pressure and manage workload priorities is expected - some tasks may be physically demanding. A desire to learn more and evolve as the department grows and develops is desirable in such fast moving and ever changing environment like IT, as is the ability to teach as well as learn. Time management, organisational skills, client management, good interpersonal skills, self-starter and good team player are attribute that will be looked for in a candidate.

Role:
Maintenance and configuration of all IT systems within the business including servers, desktops, printers, networking equipment, software, etc.
Providing 1st/2nd line IT support to all end users
Liaising with third-party suppliers to resolve issues
Working with customers to provide closer systems integration
Identifying and designing IT solutions to support the operations of the business

Required:
Experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange Server 2007
Experience supporting end users with Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office, desktop hardware and printers.
Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Networking,
Excellent communication/customer-facing skills
Willingness to work flexible hours for occasional out-of-hours support
Demonstrate strong initiative and self-motivation, able to organise own workload effectively

Desirable:
Industry Certification (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP)
Experience designing and delivering IT projects within a business
Experience in User Acceptance / Software Testing would be beneficial

The general working hours are 9am to 5pm but will require a deal of flexibility as most upgrades are completed out of hours.
