Vital Regeneration is a registered charity working to transform London's most deprived neighbourhoods. They focus most of their work in Westminster where they develop social, environmental and economic programmes. Their vision is for everyone to have equal expectations and opportunities in life and not to be seriously disadvantaged by where they live.
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to help with the development of online and printed marketing material aimed at attracting young people onto our 'Create+' music production courses.
This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience of working within an innovative young charity, where you will be given help and support with your personal and professional development. It will also enable you to develop your design skills and creative portfolio.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Using your knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programmes, you will help to develop a range of marketing materials (posters, flyers, postcards, brochures) for Create+, aimed at attracting our desired client group (14-25 year olds, NEETs or those at risk of becoming NEETs).
Contribute to the development of our online marketing strategy, through the use of social media and blogging - using your creative input to create attractive and engaging blog posts and Facebook/Twitter pages.
Assist with the development of other printed or online project material that requires design skills, such as evaluation forms and coursework portfolios.
Work in partnership with the rest of the Create+ team to ensure that all documents are fit for purpose, in keeping with the Create+ brand and meet set deadlines.
There is also scope for you to get involved in additional design tasks within other areas of the organisation as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience of working successfully within a team
Experience of Adobe CS design software packages such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash
Creative and imaginative
Able to work independently and confidently use initiative to solve problems
Proven organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time keeping and attendance record
Desirable:
Experience of working within a non profit organisation
Experience of developing creative marketing materials
This role can be carried out at home, with flexible working hours, or within our own offices where we are able to provide the required equipment and software. The successful applicant will be eligible to claim lunch and travel expenses up to £8 per day worked in our office.
