The Position
As The Tech Co-founder And Lead Engineer, Your Main Remit Will Be To Develop, Lead And Manage The Software Department. You Will Initially Work To Define And Build The System Architecture, And Code The
Launch Website Back-end From Scratch And Within A Reasonably Challenging Time-frame. We Are Looking For Someone To Become An Integral Part Of The Management Team And To Develop With The Business.
This Is A Fantastic Opportunity To Be Involved In Shaping The Product And Business Model From Its Early Days, In A Fun And Flexible Environment. As You Would Expect From An E-commerce Start-up, There Will Be Lots Of Hard Work Involved, Carried Out In An Agile And Fast Paced Way. It Will Therefore Require Some Serious Out-of-the Box Thinking, Entrepreneurial Drive And Commitment. The Ecosystem Will Be Evolving Quickly And Therefore Adaptability Will Be A Key Aspect Of Your Personality. You Will Have Vision And The Capacity To Envisage

We Believe That Ruby Is The Core Technology Which Will Serve Our Needs Best Initially. However, We Would Be Happy To Be Convinced That Another Language Could Be Just As Flexible And Effective.
The Skills / Knowledge We Would Expect You To Have Are:
- A Deep Knowledge Of Ruby And Ruby-on-Rails
- Experience Of Deploying And Scaling Web Services Capable Of Handling A Large Number Of Actions
- Capacity To Tweak Code And Configure Files To Obtain Optimal Performance
- Experience Of SQL And NoSQL Databases
- Integration With External Services (Facebook, Twitter, Etc.)
- Working Knowledge Of HTML, CSS, AJAX And Javascript Would Be An Advantage
Experience
- Degree In Computer Science Or Related Field Preferred
- 5 Years Developer / Software Engineer Professional Experience
- We Are Also Happy To Consider A Young And Dynamic Programmer Who Has The Energy And Determination To Make It In A Start-up Environment.
Remuneration
Remuneration Will Be In The Form Of Pure Sweat Equity In The Start-up / Launch Phase Followed By A Salary Once The Business Starts Generating An Income. During The Start-up Phase, You Will Be Free And
