CENTRE ASSISTANTS Required At FSC Dale Fort Field Centre; From Mid-March To Mid-November 2012


Field Studies Council Is An Educational Charity Which Exists To Promote Better Environmental Understanding For All. Dale Fort Is A Converted Victorian Fortress Set On A Rocky Promontory At The Entrance To Milford Haven In Pembrokeshire. It Has A Deserved Reputation For The Delivery Of High Quality Field Courses In Biology And Geography Across The Age Range.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Will Include Some Or All Of The Following:
Service Of Meals Inc. Preparation Of Dining Room, Clearing And Washing Up.
Assisting In The Kitchen With Meal Preparation.
General Cleaning Of The Kitchen And Service Areas.
Preparing Accommodation Rooms With Bed Making, Cleaning Bathrooms, Showers, Toilets And Floors.
Cleaning And General Maintenance Of The Centre Buildings And Immediate Grounds As Required.
Taking An Active Role In The Centre Duty System.
Serving In The Bar/shop In The Evening (usually Coupled With Duty).
Working Closely With Other Centre Staff With Regard To Ensuring That Appropriate Levels Of Service Are Maintained During Absences And Periods Of High Workload.
Any Other Duties That May Be Reasonably Be Required By The Hospitality Manager Or Head Of Centre To Ensure The Smooth And Efficient Running Of The Centre.

Based On A 37 Hour Week, The Actual Salary Is Currently £11,697 Per Annum. If Resident At The Centre There Will Be A Deduction For Accommodation.

The Usual Working Day Is On A Split Shift, Morning And Evening. On Some Days The Hours Will Vary But The Total Number Of Hours Worked Will Remain The Same. You Will Be Entitled To 2 Consecutive Days Off Per Week.

All New Staff Are Required To Undergo An Enhanced Disclosure Check With The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Prior To Appointment And At Regular Intervals During Employment With The FSC As Defined In Its Code Of Conduct.
