A Private family in Longfield, Kent are looking for a Care Manager to undertake a variety of tasks which aid the running of a 24/7 care package for a disabled child. The multifaceted role requires an individual who is organised, efficient and has the ability to manage a team of 10 carers and nurses.
The role requires an individual with 1 years caring experience. The ideal candidate will have previous management experience and good observation skills. We are looking for someone who is honest, reliable and has good communication skills.
You will be required to work 35 hours per week. However, due to the nature of the role flexibility is advantageous and you may be required to work increased or different hours to suit the familys busy schedule. A typical week would be as follows: Monday and Thursday 9am-5pm. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1pm-7pm, and one Saturday per month.
Despite the role being managerial we require the care manager to provide hands on care to the child and to teach other members of staff best practice.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Day-to-day management of staff
Ensure stock levels are maintained and place orders with relevant suppliers,
Answer emails and telephone calls,
Deal with relevant paper work
Deal with payroll and have the skills to use Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems
Offering advice and supervising all members of staff which include review meetings
Managing the family diary and staff rosters to ensure 24 hour care is maintained.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1 year minimum experience caring for children or adults with physical disabilities (not learning disabilities)
Previous experience managing a team of people
Good observation skills and the ability to use initiative
A minimum of a C grade in GCSE/GCE Maths and English, or the equivalent
Good time management, planning skills and the ability to prioritise and multi task
Is conscientious, has integrity and who is able to provide a professional service with a friendly manner
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the team and in the childs wellbeing and progress.
We will be looking for an individual who can maintain our high standards of care and support the family in employing new members of staff.
35 hours per week, flexibility is advantageous
Salary ranges between 16,000 and 21,000 (depending on experience).
