Book-Keeper

We are a small construction business company turning over about 200 Transactions per month; we are growing.

We require a part-time book-keeper for a minimum of 20 hours per week. The choice of hours is flexible, but must work in tandem with the Financial Manager and Office Manager and must be consistent week-to-week.

The book-keeper must be highly proficient in Sage Line 50. Other skills/experience required:

Experience with Sage 50 Construct is very desirable.
Experience with Sage ePay is very desirable.
Must be familiar with Construction Industry Scheme deductions etc.
Must be familiar with completing VAT returns with both Zero rated and Standard Rated projects.
Must be familiar with dealing with Retentions
Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Must be very comfortable with using software applications generally and be prepared to learn new applications.
Experience with managing Purchase Orders would be desirable.
Must have attention to detail and a firm approach.
Must be able to work and follow things through independently.

The book-keeper will report to the ACA qualified Financial Manager,with particular responsibility to ensure that all transactions are supported by adequate paperwork and chasing missing paperwork as required.

In addition, the book-keeper will provide detailed assistance in the production of monthly management accounts and will be expected to be able to produce ad hoc reports on creditors and debtors per project from time to time. Reconciliation of transactions is a key process. The book-keeper will also have a joint responsibility to maximise the amount and quality of supplier and customer information held within Sage.
