The Ice Rink Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Ice Rink General Manager with coordination, supervision, safe, and effective operation of the Ice rink facility including ice maintenance and resurfacing.
Enthusiasm, energy and a calm approach to problem solving along with customer service experience would be an advantage.
Assist in the daily operation of the Ice Rink; supervise staff and student workers.
Maintain ice surface for a variety of ice related activities which include operating, maintaining, monitoring, and keeping accurate records of resurfacing equipment to keep ice schedule on track with a high quality, level, and efficient ice surface.
Assistant Manager will report any issues to the General Manager to avoid any interruptions of the ice rink schedule.
Monitor and manage staff performance in all departments reporting to General Manager, take a proactive role in recruitment.
Ensure required level of customer service is maintained in all departments.
Cash handling and key holder responsibilities.
PC literate, with working knowledge of MS Office and social media.
Assist in maintaining and providing custodial duties in the ice rink to assure cleanliness, and a safe environment for the facility and its visitors and guests.
Will serve as supervisor of building, ice rink maintenance, and ice rink staff.
Assist with customer service relations at skating events at the rink and will maintain a positive working relationship with staff, peers, supervisors, and the public.
Assistant will serve as backup to the Ice Rink Manager, and will assist implementation and enforce all policies and procedures.
Assist with planning and coordinating all maintenance activities.
Understands and complies with the Silver Blades Health and Safety Manual.
Work a flexible shift pattern over a 7 day period. Ensure holiday and sickness cover is maintained.
Prepared to work outside the rink at promotional events.
Perform first aid as and when required – training provided.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
