SUMMARY
A Responsible Sales And Administrative Role At Hatfield House Gift Shop And Toy Shop. The Administrative Sales Assistant Will Aid With The Efficient Operation Of A Quality Retail Sales Operation. Responsibilities Are Performed Under The Guidance Of The Retail Manager.
Working Week Includes Weekends. (Wednesday To Sunday, 10.00am To 6pm - 30 Minute Lunch Break). An Earlier Start From 8am Every 3rd Sunday Of The Month To Oversee/coordinate A New Farmers Market At Hatfield House.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Operation Of A Gift Shop And Toy Shop;
Proficient In Operating Equipment Including Cash Registers And Computers; Follows Retail Policies And Performs Retail Procedures As Necessary, Including But Not Limited To Purchases, Phone Orders, Internal Department Transfers.
Meet, Greet And Assist Public In Selecting Merchandise, Dealing With Customer Service Issues, Plus Health And Safety And Security Issues.
Aid Cashiering And Receipting The Sale Of Merchandise By Cash And Charge Transactions And Performs Such Duties As Required;
Maintain Sales Records/reports As Necessary Using The Current Computerised Stock System.
Inventory Management/stock Control; Checking In Merchandise Shipments Against Invoices, Declaring Shortages/ Damages; Marking With Price Tickets, Displaying, Replenishing/reordering Stock Items On Time;
Support Retail Manager Who Makes Buying Decisions, Selecting Marketable Goods Appropriate To The Potential Buying Audience, Season Of The Year And Recognized Customer Demand. Present New Buying Ideas To Retail Manager For Decision.
As Requested By Retail Manager; Plan Staff Work Schedules/rotas According To Projected Business Levels/events/seasonal Changes And Aid With Stock Counts.
On Site Project Management Of A Monthly Sunday Farmers Market.
Any Other Duties As Requested By Retail Manager.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective Communicator, Both Orally And In Writing
Excellent Administration Skills
Computer Literate With Knowledge Of Current Microsoft Programmes And Stock Programmes
Sales Experience/retail Purchasing Experience/merchandising Techniques; Or Equivalent Combination Of Training And Experience
Good Arithmetic Skills
