8HP two stroke outboard engine newly refurbished to a good standard. Both bores re-honed, 2 new pistons and ring sets fitted. All power head gaskets replaced. New exhaust, impeller and complete water pump assembly. Lower unit gear oil drained and replaced. Body of the engine re-sprayed – cowling and bracket in original condition.

The engine has since been run in for 9 hours as per the manufacturer’s recommendations with double the oil in the fuel mix finishing off the last hour with the usual mix. It starts first time and runs extremely well. Easily transported in the boot of a saloon car.

This engine was my first boating engine and has been used on rivers, canals and the sea. There is no serial number on the carriage but I estimate the engine to be 20 – 30 years old. It has had poor wintering service by the “professionals” over the years and early last season it seized due to an impeller failure. I decided to take it into my own hands to repair and over a 9 month period spent nearly £500 and many tender hours. – I have owned the engine for 5 years but replaced it with a 4 stroke to cover the down time during last season, hence the reason for the sale.
