Revell of London, fantastic vintage touring bicycle.

Revell bicycles were provided by Freewheel cycles during the 80s, and frames are believed to be built by master frame builders such as Mercian or Dave Yates (according to my extensive forum reading). So the future owner is getting a bit of London cycling history here.

Frame/forks are built with butted Ishiwata 2045 tubes (top quality). Some stone chips, rust spots and scratches as normal in a vintage bike, but overall is solid and in good condition for age. 23" size.

Spec includes: alloy rims, Pelliser front hub, Suntour Vx rear mech, Sach-Huret shifters, SR stem, ITM handlebars, San Marco corsaire 313 saddle and Weinmann dual brake levers. Front tyre is a Continental GatorSkin and rear a Bontrager CitiLite, both puncture-proof.

This is a great machine for touring/commuting. Shifters in the stem are easily reachable (unlike the downtube ones). The stem itself is very short and high providing a quite upright cycling position, perfect for long rides. Saddle is as great as it looks and dual brake levers are a safety bonus. Tyres are a bit wider than the average (32-630) allowing for a smooth ride, but they still rolling effortlessly. On top of that you have lightweight mudguards, chain guard and a sturdy rear carrier.

The ride is just fantastic. They say that a quality handcrafted frame feels special, and this is the perfect example. Positive, smooth and invigorating, you feel you can do a world tour in it. I would keep this bike forever, but I am moving soon and don't have space for it so have to let her go.

Bike is serviced and everything works as it should. Brake pads, tyres and cables in excellent condition. Brand new chain and red Cinelli bar tape just fitted.

No timewasters please.
