DESCRIPTION
Measuring 14in x 14in x 14in, this is a PC case I guarantee you will fall in love with at first sight - at least, I did! If space permitted it would be staying with me. :(
As a geek, I appreciate the all-aluminium (sturdy and light) construction, with shiny-black powder coat atop, and the 3 full-length/width UV-blue acrylic side panels to the left, top and right of the case.
I chose to compliment this look with AC-Ryan UV-Blue fan grilles and Cooler Master Blue-LED fans - both of which will be included, at no extra cost, if desired.
More down-to-earth, at the top left of the front of the case there are blue HDD and power LEDs, with power and reset buttons. Being a 'small' Mountain Mods case, there are 3 5.25in bays and 3 3.5in slots. If a buyer is interested, I can suggest a method for allowing 12 3.5in bays; allowing use as a server.
THE CASE
- 1 Twice7-model PC case, manufactured by Mountain Mods:
- - Powder Black, UV-Blue full sides.
- - One of the side windows is missing a 2cm diagonal from its corner - see YouTube Video. (I over-tightened a screw.) By putting the affected diagonal at the back, to the bottom, and using this side next to a wall, I don't conceive this being an issue for most users. Stability/security-wise, the sides are designed to be held by up-to 8 screws, which is overkill frankly.
Should this still be an issue, a replacement panel can be ordered from Mountain Mods. I've found their staff friendly and efficient.
THE ACCESSORIES
- Fan Grills/Grilles:
- - 1 Blue AC Ryan 2x120cm vertical (front)
- - 1 Blue AC Ryan 120cm (front)
- - 1 Blue AC Ryan 120cm (back)
- - 2 Green Mountain Mods 80mm (back; motherboard tray).
- Fans:
- - 3 (out of 4 possible) 120cm Hiper fans, with blue LEDs. (4th fan can be supplied.)
- - 2 80cm Hiper (low-noise) fans at back, on motherboard tray.
- Fan controller:
- - 1 Zalman 'ZM-MFC1 Plus' 5.25in speed controller for 6 fans.
- Neons:
- - Set 1: 2 bright-white 12in, at front left and front right, for illumination. Switch at back in PCI slot.
- - Sets 2&3: 4 UV-Purple/Blue, at side left bottom, side left top, side right bottom and side right top. Used at night time, to make the case look even cooler. (Ahem.) Switches at back in PCI slot.
- 1 four-port USB 2.0 Header for the bottom PCI slot. (See video.)
PRICE
I think £215 is a fair price, however I'm open to discussion. Just the case cost $300 buy. Then over $100 postage. Then £100 customs.
For some crazy reason, Mountain Mods are no longer producing this. (They also produce an 18in cube, which sells well, and they may be trying to simplify their product lines.)
Sure, Mountain Mods reserve the right to re-introduce this range, but until they do you will have an exceedingly rare case from a highly sought-after company - in short, consider this an investment.
