John Lennon's Hofner Senator was serial No.4697, this Senator is serial No.5818, both are 1958 production, and both are the typical Selmer (English) distribution where Höfner is spelled Hofner. The guitars are exactly alike, with the difference that this one is equipped with a beautiful Hofner pickup, and John's wasn't. Otherwise they are the same, including the typical non-clipped 58 headstock that changed to 'clipped' later that year, the natural finish, the 22 fret fingerboard with five triple dot inlays, the Compensator tailpiece, the bound f-holes, the plastic facia with typical Hofner logo of that era, this one also has the tortoiseshell plastic pickguard. It is in wonderful condition and must be a must have for a Beatles or John Lennon Collector.

I had it set up in 2013 by luthier Bernie Goodfellow at GB Guitars in Brighton. It plays beautifully and sounds great acoustically and amplified. There are a few marks and knocks on the finish, and the neck has had some repair work done, but this is typical for a guitar of this age. Feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you'd like to come and see it. Good luck!

I'd rather not use a courier but if you'd like to arrange for one to deliver, then I'll pack it as best I can for a safe journey.
