Extremely rare Indian nagara drums
£100 Peckham, London

Sorry, this ad is no longer available.

Hi there, I am selling my Nagara drums that I brought back from Rajasthan, India.

I love all kinds of drums and percussion instruments and fell in love with these when I first heard them as they were so different to any ethnic drums I had seen or heard. The big drum is made of wood and produces a deep bass sound. Whereas the small drum is made of metal produces a high metallic sound, (almost like a snare rimshot/timbales sound) . They are played sitting cross legged on the floor, using hand carved sticks.

I can't upload the videos in this ad but search for Nathu Lal Solinkey on YouTube and see what these drums are capable of. Nathu Lal Solinkey is the master of nagara drumming. I had some lessons from him and he sold me these drums.

I have recently replaced the skin of the small drum so they are good to go. They come with sticks and ring cushions for the drums to sit on.

The cheapest I have seen them elsewhere (they are hard to search for!) is £150 just for the big drum so £100 is a bargain for this rare set.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Would consider sensible offers.

Collection from Nunhead, South-East London.
