Relax in the South West of France in our poolside villa with its adjacent cottage which combine modern style facilities & old world charm. Built in the traditional Landaise style the gite offers all the comforts of home plus the luxury of an exclusive self-catering holiday property, giving you the freedom to explore this lovely corner of France. The open-plan villa includes a fully fitted kitchen where you can create delicious dishes using the finest local ingredients. Foie gras, corn fed chicken, Arcachon oysters, asparagus, cherries, sweet chestnuts, ceps & chanterelles can all be found seasonally in the local markets. The villa's tastefully decorated living & dining area, large bathroom & two bed sleeping area all overlook the exclusive pool & there is a built-in barbecue with outside dining & seating. The bright, cheerfully quaint two bedroom cottage which sleeps four has its own shower room. On balmy evenings you can sit on the spotlit terrace sipping Armagnac or Pastis & watch the setting sun light up the pine trees which are the backdrop to the fresh water trout lake. The tranquil setting will soon help you unwind & whether you take advantage of the bright, sunny days of Spring, the glorious heat of Summer or the warm, gentle Autumn you'll love eating breakfast croissants from the village boulangerie on the spacious terrace next to the sparkling swimming pool. Set in over forty acres the beautifully landscaped park & forest are a nature lover's paradise, teeming with wildlife from dragonflies to deer, from kingfishers to coypu! Next to the small fruit orchard a badminton net is provided for your use & there are free tennis courts in the village while nearby centres offer various outdoor activities. Forget the stresses of everyday life as you drive past free range hens & their chicks, cycle through the forest spotting red squirrels & pheasants, or explore the grounds. During the day you can laze by the large private pool, drive to the Atlantic coast to surf or go horse riding, swimming & bird watching at Arjuzanx nature reserve. Visit the spa towns of Dax & Eugénie-les-Bains, the wine region of Bordeaux or take a train to Sabres' Eco Museum. Many villages have a boules pitch where you can watch the locals play until you feel ready to join in. There are several annual celebrations in the area including The Fete de Bayonne, The Flamenco Festival & The Madeleine at Mont de Marsan as well as local festivities which can be anything from a sardine barbecue & disco to running of the bulls. Take a day trip to Biarritz, make a pilgrimage to Lourdes, view the breathtaking scenery of the Pyrenees, even venture into Spain for a change of culture. If you need anything we live on site & will be only too glad to help. But if you simply want to relax & tuck yourself away from it all, apart from deer barking, frogs singing or owls hooting you will find few disturbances to disrupt the peace of this tranquil holiday home. Bed linen & towels are provided & the beds are made ready for your arrival. We also provide a high chair & a baby travel cot & mattress, but please bring your own linen for the cot.
