The room itself is a reasonable size, furnished with a double-bed, couple of chest of drawers and has plenty storage space in a built-in wardrobe.
It's a bright, airy and warm flat and the front of the property gets great light from the late afternoon/evening sun. The lounge is furnished with two two-seater sofas, TV and a dining table that sits in the bay window.
The kitchen is new and modern with a good-sized fridge freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer, microwave, loads of cutlery, pots and pans etc. Bathroom is good with electric shower in the bath.
Hopefully the pictures give you a good idea. The flat may look a bit plain at the minute but I've only been in the property a short time and haven't yet put up any pictures on the walls!
With the flat being on the top floor and well-insulated, it's easy to heat and it keeps its heat well. All of the rooms you'll have access to are double-glazed with the exception of the bathroom. There's no gas in the flat, that is, the boiler etc is powered by electricity but it's normal 'wet' radiators so it's straightforward enough to control the temperature of the flat and get hot water on demand.
The location of the flat is brilliant. Queen Margaret Drive has plenty newsagents, cafes, hairdressers and a greengrocers quite literally at the bottom of the stairs of the close and loads of other shops (like a Tesco Express) within a stone's throw.
The flat is a couple of minutes walk from the Botanical Gardens and across the road from there is the junction of Byres Road and Great Western Road. Lots of public transport within a short distance to get to the city centre and a few minutes drive from the M8 to head either east or west out of the city. And you never have a problem getting a taxi outside the flat on a Friday or Saturday night.
If you have a car, parking nearby is free and plentiful.
Rent is £395 per calendar month and this includes council tax, electricity and TV/broadband/landline. TV is through Virgin Media with a 500Gb Tivo box so you can record your programmes, broadband is 30Mb (Virgin upgrading it to 60Mb soon!) and phone provides you with free weekend calls to 01/02 numbers.
