Weirside Rangers are looking for new players for our 3 competitive amateur football teams for the current 2012/13 season. Training is every Tuesday and the season is now under way!

What to expectand what not!
Weirside Rangers (www.weirsiderangers.com) were founded in 1919 (as Lensbury FC) and are located in East Molesey, Surrey (Near Hampton, Esher, Kingston) but away matches can take you all over London from Finchley in the North, Walthamstow in the East, Croydon in the South and Kew in the West so you must be prepared to travel.

We run 3 senior teams at present on Saturday afternoons in the competitive Southern Amateur League (www.southernamateurleague.co.uk) so we cater for most standards and ages above 16. We also run a veterans over 35 side who play competitive organised friendlies during the year on Sundays and are always looking for new players.

It's NOT semi-pro, you won't get paid - in fact it'll cost you to play to keep the club running. Approx £100 annual subs and then between £6-£10 per match to cover refs, pitches, food, training and drink. So what do you get for that?

The standard is a very strong amateur standard the SAL rep team won the FA National League System Cup in 2008 and represented England in against other European countries.

Approx 20-22 league games a season running from Sept until May playing only on Saturdays (at the end of the season there could be midweek games depending on weather / cup runs), and then approx 3 cup competitions including the LFFA trophy, Surrey/Kent Cup and the AFA Cup.

We train usually once a week on a Tuesday evening.

We are based at Imber Court in their salubrious surroundings (www.imbercourtsportsclub.co.uk).

Every season at the end of May we have a tour to some far flung country (typically in Eastern Europe) for the bank holiday - it's approx £350 for 4 nights and it's fantastic! Previous destinations include Slovakia, Czech Rep, Poland, Holland, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Macedonia.
