Is pregnancy affecting your sleep?

The Psychology Research Group at Bournemouth University are looking for pregnant volunteers to take part in an important study looking at the effects of sleep disruption during pregnancy and postnatal mood.

The main part of the study involves an overnight sleep study in your home. The researcher will visit in the evening to fit the electrodes, which takes about one hour and is completely safe. You can then sleep at home as normal. You will receive a detailed report on your sleep (e.g. amount of deep sleep, dreaming, awakenings)

We are looking for pregnant women who will be giving birth in the bournemouth / poole area.

You will also be asked to carry out a number of questionnaires during your last trimester and at weeks 1 and 12 after you give birth. These ask questions about your sleep, fatigue and mood.

The study has full nhs ethical approval.
