Original manuscripts are sought with strong, believable characters that have real market potential. Elisabetta Minervini from the publishing company Alma Books is the judge of the competition and she will have the option of publishing the winner.

Wednesday 29th February 2012 is the deadline. Writers must submit either the first three chapters of their manuscript, or a prologue and the first two chapters, along with a one page synopsis and a short author biography, along with contact details on a separate sheet.

The entry fee is £20 and you can enter online or by post.

The winner receives £500 and assistance from an editor to complete their manuscript.
