On Sunday 29th April 2012, the Jennifer Trust will be hosting an exciting abseil from the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge to raise vital funds which will benefit those living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
The Jennifer Trust is the leading national charity in the UK dedicated to supporting children and adults affected by SMA. Its looking for local people with an adventurous spirit to combine raising funds with the challenge of a 160ft abseil from the iconic Middlesbrough structure.
At such a great height, the abseil offers stunning views over Middlesbrough, and is an opportunity not to be missed! Places are limited so visit The Jennifer Trust at http://www.jtsma.org.uk/transporter_bridge_abseil to guarantee your place today.
The sponsorship raised from the abseil will help us to continue to provide vital support and information to families and individuals affected by SMA. 1 in 40 of us carry the gene which causes SMA affecting 1 in 6500 live births. In its severest form, Type I SMA is the largest genetic cause of death of infants in the UK today. Children affected by Type II SMA will never walk and rely on electrically powered wheelchairs to gain dependence and mobility.
