What is Jitsu?
Jitsu is a movement based martial art involving the use of throwing, striking and locking techniques against armed and unarmed attackers. The emphasis is on using an opponent's movement and body weight to your advantage - allowing you to defend yourself, no matter how big or strong your attacker is. Jitsu skills can be used by men, women and children to counter aggressive situations ranging from unwanted harassment to armed physical assault.
What will I learn?
When you start Jitsu, you will be taught simple techniques for dealing with attacks like punches to the face, strangles, wrist, hair and ear grabs. After a few sessions or so, you will start to deal with knife, broken bottle and cosh attacks, as well as kicks and punches. All the training is geared to your ability so you learn at your own pace.
Session Times: Mondays, 7-9pm. Thursdays 6.30-8.30pm (please call to confirm the Thur sessions).
Cost: Your frist session is FREE. £5/session afterwards.
