DO IT FOR DAD
sponsored cycle for the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer

The Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer is hoping to encourage the people of Cornwall to take part in this years ‘Do it for Dad’ cycle ride along the Camel Trail in June.

Taking place on Father’s Day, June 17th, cyclists can choose to start and finish at any point along the Trail, whether it’s a 36 mile challenge from Wenfordbridge to Padstow and back or a more leisurely ride from Wadebridge to Padstow.

Last year the event which took place in a early summer sunshine and saw twenty cyclists raise over £2,000 for the charity.
David Squires from the Chestnut Appeal said “It was great to see so many people who hadn’t been out cycling for a long time enjoying the occasion and helping us raise our profile in Cornwall. And this year we are hoping that we can grow on last year’s success and encourage lots of cyclists to take part”.
Steve Perry joined long-time friend and prostate cancer patient Ian Lidstone on the ride last year as he wanted to help spread awareness that prostate cancer can affect younger men. "Ian got diagnosed at 41, and it really made me sit up and think. Taking part last year was my way of helping spread the word in a positive and healthy way".
Registration for the ride is £10 which includes a t-shirt – to find out more email David
