I have owned this car for near enough two years and never had problems with it. Well, having said that :) couple of months after I bought it I've had to replace turbo charger which was around £1000 :(have receipt for it) but after that no problems ever since, car drives like a dream and it's regularly maintained by local mechanic specialised for Jap vehicles.
Car was never involved in any accident. I do have log book to go with it and MOT(was done in Nov last year-car flew through it) and tax (which runs out by the end of march) will be done by me for YOUR peace of mind.
No black smoke at all,ever. Car have 93K on the clock (90% motorway) and it will increase slightly as is in use by me daily.
