I am selling my beloved Honda Shadow in order to make way for a new arrival and due to the fact that circumstances limit the amount of time that I ride.
This is in very good condition for its age and is very comfortable. I am only 5' 7" but can get both feet comfortably on the ground due to the low seat height. This is ideal if you are of shorter stature.
Tax valid unt end of March 2013, MOT until 31st of May 2013. Insurance is low and due to the low power (44hp) and high weight (approx 230kg) this fits nicely into the new A2 licence category due in Jan 2013. I calculated the power/weight to be approx 0.14kw/kg. This makes this bike ideal if you are looking for your first "big" bike and like the cruiser style.
This bike look fantastic in the sun when it's all polished up and no one can mistake the sound of a V-twin. This will comfortably cruise at 70 and the upright position and wide seat make it very comfortable.
I am including the panniers, universal fit screen (which I have never fitted) and front tool roll (no tools included). The manual and small tool kit that come with the bike are present and are stored in a small cubby hole under the saddle, behind the purple side panel
The tyres will need replacing but I have already bought the new tyres and these will be included in the sale.
The stator cover on the left had side has surface corrosion (see pics, no.5) but I have also bought a brand new cover and gasket and these will also be included in the sale.
Due to it having been stood over last winter it seems to be running a little lean and this may need attention before any long tours although it starts and runs fine. The idle may just need adjusting.
There is a small bit of rust on the rear mudguard and a small patch on the front mudguard where the paint has worn slightly but these shouldn't take much sorting.
I am looking for a quick sale but am not going to let it go for peanuts. This is an ideal over winter project to get the bike ready for next spring.
If this doesn't sell by early January then it will be traded in part exchange but I would rather it went to someone directly rather than to a dealer.
