What is Resin Bound Paving?

We can overlay an existing tarmac or concrete driveway and pathways with resin bound paving. Without any excavation which is cost effective and minimises disruption. A Polyurethane resin binder mixed with the natural stone aggregate is trowel applied to the substrate creating a seamless, bonded, permeable surface. The end result being a stunning natural stone driveway or pathway without the usual loose stones.

Or for your newly prepared driveways or pathways we can use our eco friendly system called sustainable surfacing which is completely porous and so complies with all the Sustainable Urban Drainage Systemsstandards ( SUDS ) regulations.

Resin bound paving is very practical and easy to maintain:

Chemical resistant The polyurethane resin is extremely resistant to most chemicals including petrol, diesel & oil.

Weed free Unlike block paving, you can easily brush weeds away. That's because their roots can only grow a few millimetres into the surface.

Drains well Water filters through the semi permeable surface. The sustainable surfacing system is even better because it's completely porous.

Easy to clean You can clean the surface with a power washer without causing any damage.

Incorporating Drain covers We can replace drain covers with inset lid covers filled with the resin bound paving mixture if required.

Colour fast and UV stable The polyurethane resin binder encapsulates and protects the beauty of the natural stone.

Quick clean and fast installation

We can install resin bound paving directly onto your concrete or tarmac substrate. This means you can have a natural stone driveway or pathway installed quickly with the minimum of disruption. We can complete most installations within 1 or 2 days. The resin bound paving system only takes a few hours to fully cure, so you can quickly get back to using your driveway or pathway the following day.

If you are widening your driveway or pathway or if it needs repairing prior to the installation we will advise you about this. We can execute these works and advise you of the costs involved.
What substrate do we need?

A tarmac or concrete drive

We can install the resin bound paving system directly on to an existing tarmac or concrete substrate.
Not flag stones or paving stones

We can't install resin bound paving directly onto paving stones as the resin bound paving system needs to be installed onto a firm monolithic base or this may induce cracks in the surface.
For a newly prepared driveway foundation: SUSTAINABLE SURFACING

For a newly prepared driveway, we can use our eco friendly Sustainable surfacing. Sustainable surfacing can be installed directly onto compacted hardcore, [Type 1 stone or MOT 1] or crushed concrete and brick.

Sustainable surfacing is completely porous. It returns all rainwater to the water table to comply with SUDS regulations

Sustainable surfacing is a two part system:

1. Crumbed recycled tyres: The first layer is a mix of rubber crumb and a polyurethane resin binder installed directly onto your hardcore or crushed concrete base.

2. Top coat: Natural stone aggregates bound with a polyurethane resin creating a completely porous, visually stunning surface
