Joiner required to repair internal door and fit a Yale lock
Finnieston, Glasgow

Sorry, this ad is no longer available.

I have an internal door within my shared flat that needs repaired.

There was a night latch Yale lock on the door and the keys were lost and the door was kicked in to gain access. The old lock is damaged and there is damage to the door and frame.

It is an original door in a listed building and therefore I would require the door to be repaired and not replaced. The door has had a 6mm Masterboard fireproof sheet added to the front and also has the intumescent seals around the sides.

The existing fireproof sheet needs to be removed, the door filled/repaired and for a new sheet of Masterboard or equivalent to be fitted to replace the existing. A Yale lock should then be fitted (a new yale nightlatch lock is will be provided) and the frame will need a couple of nails/screws to make it more flush to the wall.

I have attached photographs of the damage. The intumescent strips are all fine so depending upon how you repair it they probably wont need replaced.

Please let me know an estimate on the cost to repair, when you can do the job and how long you would expect it to take.

In addition to this work I also need half a dozen doors planed at the bottom since I have had a new carpet with underlay fitted and now my doors are a struggle to open or close. I need the doors removed and approx 1cm sawed or planed off the bottom of the door - you will need to remove and then rehang the doors yourself after cutting it down.

My place is located in Finnieston very close to the SECC Exhibition Centre railway station.
