Hi,

I Am A Recent Graduate From The University Of Edinburgh Where I Completed A 5 Year Masters Of Physics (Mphys) Degree With Honours In Astrophysics. Since My Second Year Of University I Have Tutored High School Pupils From GCSE/ Standard Grade Level Up Second Year University Level For Both Maths And Physics. I Have Also Taught A Number Of Open University Courses.

Since I Am Relatively Young (I Am Only 24) I Feel Pupils Have Always Found Me Much More Approachable Than An Older Tutor And Feel They Can Ask Me Any Questions That They Wouldn't Want To Ask Their Teacher. I Have Only Recently Finished Exams So I Can Relate Well To The Stresses That Some Pupils Can Feel In Preparing For Their Exams.

Generally, I Would Recommend A 2 Hour Session For Lessons Since I Have Found That Pupils Get The Most Out Of These. The First Hour Would Typically Be Spent Covering New Material That Had Been Taught This Week And Trying To Find Out Any Areas That Are Causing Difficulty. For The Second Hour I Would Usually Go Over Some Worked Examples And Finally Carry Out An Informal Quiz To See What The Pupil May Still Be Struggling With.

In The Past I Have Set A Small Number Of Homework Questions To Find Out How Well The New Concepts Have Been Learned. If You Were Not Wanting Homework Questions Set Then This Is Absolutely Fine.

I Currently Have Availability Monday, Tuesday And Wednesday From 5.30PM And I Would Be Prepared To Travel Anywhere Within A Reasonable Distance Of Central Oxford. Alternatively, I Would Be Happy To Teach From My Home In South Oxford. My Rates Are £20/hour And This Would Include Travelling And Marking Of Any Homework That I Set.
