I am a self-employed courier operating nationwide. I often travel between the Outer Hebrides and England, so I can probably give you excellent value for long-distance as well as short deliveries.

For example, I will deliver two full-sized pallets from the Isle of Lewis to most parts of England for £199 total. For two pallets travelling in the opposite direction I would charge £249 total (from England to the Isle of Lewis).

I operate during weekends and on bank holidays, and I'm often available at short notice.

My van is a short-wheelbase Ford Transit, with a strengthened suspension (T300), so it handles heavy loads well. The dimensions of the load area are:

Length - 240cm
Height - 130cm
Width between walls - 174cm
Width between wheel arches - 137cm
Diagonal length (from corner to corner) - about 268cm

My rate is exceptionally competitive. As a rough guide, this is how I calculate my prices for short journeys:

Normal weekdays: £7 per hour + 25p per mile
