Hi there!

I have had six years professional experience as a double bass and bass guitar player in the Royal Marines Band Service, playing in Jazz bands, Big bands, Orchestras, Wind bands, and Small String Ensembles in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. I have performed with celebrities such as Katherine Jenkins and Jane McDonald, and for Royalty such as The Duke of Edinburgh at Mountbatten's festival and the Queen on Horseguard's Parade and the opening of the Scottish Parliament. During this time I also attained a Diploma in Music, and Grade 5 Musical Theory.

I also have extensive originals band experience, wedding band experience, and arrangement experience, including the publishing of two pieces with Freehand Music (see my website at www.wix.com/jimstrange/classicsforbass).

I am offering bass guitar or double bass tuition to all levels of player, with lessons including musical comprehension, efficient playing techniques, scales/intervals, roles of the bass, and analysis of numerous musical styles and genres.

£20/hour
£12/half hour

I can travel for an extra £5 or you can come to me, block booking discounts are available.
