South Thames College is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager to administer the payroll and pensions function for 950 employees. Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing one Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and efficient service to College staff, external agencies and the payroll bureau. The College has recently merged with Merton College and in the coming few months the Payroll Manager will be expected to mange the migration of those staff onto the main College payroll.

The successful candidate will be an experienced payroll manager who will be able to hit the ground running. They will understand the payroll process from start to finish, be able to produce accurate year end returns and be able to develop effective working relationships with other College departments. The College uses CMG as its payroll software and the successful candidate will either have experience of this system or be confident that you can quickly get competent in its use. Experience of pension’s administration, in particular Teachers’ Pension and Local Government Pension schemes, is highly desirable.
