Located on the ground floor of the Tea Building, at the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road, Pizza East will open in October 2009. Imported from the back roads of Rome and Napoli to the hip streets of London, Pizza East will fuse the creative-cool of Shoreditch to the vibrant tastes of Italy. From small plates to the individual “pies” that give us our name, we will prize only the finest ingredients and precise preparation, presented by the warmest, coolest, most knowledgeable staff this side of Barolo. We need passionate, compassionate staff to be the face for the energy and care that goes into the food.

What we want

A passionate Assist Grocer in all components of the take-away/retail division of Pizza East. Your main duties will include the following:


• Assist and maintain exceptional display area within restaurant in collaboration with Grocery Manager
• Maintain aesthetic of Food Bar area, working with chefs
• Liaison with kitchen for food item pars for retail section on daily basis
• Assist in packaging of all prepared foods
• Control inventory of all necessary containers/labelling
• Be aware of and adhere to strict health/safety standards regarding all packaged foods
• Continually research and assist in product education for staff
• Maintain proper product rotation and ripening (cheese) levels
• Be contact person for all PE takeaway orders when necessary
• Assist dispense bar personnel with maintenance of Holding Pen area
• Monitor inventory of all non-restaurant generated food-stuffs
• Maintain subscriptions to all holding-pen periodicals
• Interact in warm, hospitable, and inspiring way with guest waiting in holding-pen area.
• Administer staff of retail/takeaway if and when necessary
