Needed: Autocad draughtsman, architectural assistant, architect, surveyor
I wanted to place this ad in the Jobs/Construction/Architecture section, Friday at 10:00 am, unfortunatelly strict rules in „jobs” section didn't allow me to do so. This will affect the number of people who will find this ad. But here's how it was written:
I assume this ad will be viewed approximately at least 50 times within the first 30 minutes, at least 200 times till the end of the day, and at least 500 by the end of the weekend.
We all are here for the same reason – we spent years studying architecture, nights on projects that needed to be done the next day by 9am, often we sacrificed our social lives, because the prize was so close! What do we have in return? We wait all day long for any new vacancy to appear, we send the CV with our best portfolio examples, and to often we never hear back, or this template, dry „thank you (...), unfortunatelly (…), we wish you good luck in the future”.
To hell with that!
Most of us do have skills, passion, determination and knowledge to establish and create something significant. We consider ourselves clever, sharp, only little bit out of luck, right? But why do we play this game in such a childish, insecure way, where in order for us to win, all others must loose. This is not a win/win situation, if my CV is better, all of you are stuck until next vacancy is uploaded.
I want to propose to all of you something different. Rather than fighting for yet another cad-monkey position, why not to join forces and skills we all have?
I don't have a ready-made plan we can implement right away and make money, and the only thing I can guarantee for sure is the difficulty level – it will be high! But if you are as fed up of this recession, and are willing to turn it into your favor, why not to give it a shot? And I am not writing about some happy-clappy motivation videos and smiling businessmen's faces from stock-photography webpages who are keep repeating how important motivation is, but give no bloody clue what to do about it. I am talking here about hardcore, masculine approach: gather, brainstorm, get the idea, work it out, make it happen, but this stunning red ferrari we always wanted!
From all the people that will look at the ad, probably around 10% will decide to write. If out of this 10%, I will be able to gather 10% of determined, like-minded individuals with the determination to create something spectacular, for themselves and for the community, I will be fully fulfilled!
If you decide to write, please do mention who you are and what can you contribute.
Ladies and gentlemen, the ball is on your court.
