Power Scheduler
Leading energy company now seeks numerate, capable graduate for power scheduling role. Main responsibilities are:
• Manage short term physical electric position in European markets.
• Use back office systems to schedule delivery and receipt of contracted volumes with other electricity companies and trading counterparts.
• Ensure timely and accurate capture of all physical gas activity in trading system. Ensure all delivery points/books are balanced on a daily (UK) and hourly (continent) basis, and accurately reflect the physical flow.
• Performing daily confirmations of physical power positions with trading counterparts and nominations of these positions and cross border power flows to the various European and UK power grids.
• Train new schedulers to perform the above tasks when necessary.
Experience/Skills required:
• Previous scheduling role or;
• Candidates from a commodity/energy background in a contract admin/settlements role but with the ability to learn.
• Understand the electrical transmission system and the interconnections between the various European grids.
• A good working level of Dutch.
• Decisive and able to use own initiative in dealing with operational problems.
• Disciplined and able to work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and numeric skills.
• Tactful when communicating with external companies.
• Good team spirit.
• Integrity.
