Cool and funky offices in Shoreditch: Old Street
Hey, we’re a cheeky little start-up digital agency called Last Second Tickets. We branched out of a very cool agency called Glass and then raised a chunk of our own Venture Capital funding so can now play on our own without the grow-ups telling us off.
So what do we do? Well we work with the promoters and box office managers for live events. They use us to sell their unsold tickets within the final 72 hours before that ticket is worthless. To do that, they have to provide great ticket discounts to us. It is then our job to try to match that specific live event to the most suitable people from lots of different databases who would be interested in going to that event. We then send them either an email or text message offering them a great ticket discount. The good news is that promoters, venues, database owners and consumers all benefit from our service.
One minute it’s The Russian Symphony Orchestra, next minute it could be a Comedy Show or Girls Aloud or The Sugababes or a trip back to the last century with Status Quo or Meatloaf. The tricky bit is of course finding the right person who wants to go to that event at that time and in that location. That's where you come in!
I need someone really good at digging up information via the internet or accessing research sites to identify lots of different web databases (tedious I know so please don’t lose the will to live as there will be loads more interesting things as well). You will also become involved in meeting promoters, theatre managers, venues, database owners and of course finally attending the live events (although some of them are downright lame so you do so at your own peril :-)
Your daily job will be pretty varied and will include all and more of the following:
- Internet and directory research
- Negotiating with database owners to access their databases
- Tracking what database channel has been most successful in selling tickets
- Identifying and communicating to large employers in different towns so they can offer our service to their employees
- Speaking to venues to obtain their ticket inventory
- Attending meetings and making presentations
- Using our technology platform to create messaging campaigns
- Identifying and talking to fan databases
- Providing feedback to our tech team so they create a kick ass technology platform
I need someone who just gets it and is generally bright and actually welcomes the challenge to get cracking and taking responsibility of tasks to hit deadlines. We need someone with previous experience of phone work, sounds very pleasant, is good at English and can work quickly and accurately. I need someone who is not afraid to spank the phones and be able to articulate what we do in a few sentences (unlike me as I have a bad habit of waffling… hence this job description :-)
We are paying £100 a day for an 8 hour day (inc 1 hour for lunch) and I need 10 – 12 days a month. If we like each other then it is envisaged this job will move to full time from November this year with a meaty review of salary at that stage.
Please only send a quick couple of paragraphs in an email detailing any experience you have, together with your mobile phone number and attach your CV to me in the first instance (no phonecalls please). I will then call a few people and have a quick chat ahead of inviting you in to meet us. (I'm out of the office so will respond around 13th / 14th)
