Compliance Officer- Oisc level 1

College in Central London is now seeking for an OISC level 1 officer to support the Centre Manager in the delivery of proficient and successful monitoring and measuring of Points Based System compliance across the College and to work as part of the international student support team providing and delivering an effective and efficient advisory and support service to international students and staff.

Your main duties will be surronded around three to four main areas:

Record keeping
Monitoring
Reporting
Training

as per the new point based system of UK Border Agency regulation relating to sponsorship of student and staff.

To contribute proactively to the ongoing review and development of systems, procedures and policies required in order to sustain and maintain compliance to UK Border Agency Points Based System (PBS) obligations and to ensure that these are widely known by staff and students in the College

To ensure the provision of reports and statistical analysis for monitoring PBS activities and to closely monitor compliance by students and the College.

To assist in the provision of PBS training for staff and induction for students on a rolling basis throughout the academic year.

To provide specialist PBS information, advice and guidance to international students prior to and after their arrival in the UK.

Ideal Candidate:

Degree or equivalent qualification.

At least two years' relevant work experience of working in a customer service environment including substantial one-to-one situations, i.e. providing more complex advice and guidance.

Knowledge and understanding of the new Points Based System for immigration (Tier 4).

Relevant experience of working with international and/or postgraduate students.

IT literacy and up to date knowledge of relevant computer packages and information systems.

Ability to keep accurate records and to track information.

Ability to monitor, evaluate and interpret immigration rules.

Ability to monitor data and provide reports.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and members of the public, across cultural boundaries.

Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work under pressure.

An understanding of codes of ethics relating to confidentiality and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.

Sensitivity to cultural issues relating to international liaison work.
