My client provides leading helpdesk software solutions for enterprise-wide support based on ITIL best practices.
Job Summary
My client is looking for an individual to join their development team to work on developing their service desk business application and related modules.
This role would suit a professional with the creative ability to design and develop applications, and the ability to apply new ways of thinking to existing applications.
This role is challenging. You will be involved in specifying, designing and delivering applications and you will be called upon to support the consultancy and support team. The position requires a strong ability to see project tasks through from the design stages to testing of the software prior to public release. As a commercial software house, the standards of coding and testing are very high and we require staff capable of meeting such demands.
The successful candidate will be involved in the creation and development of a number of new and ongoing projects, building leading edge business applications in the IT and Customer Service Management Arena.
Main Responsibilities
Working on Visual Studio 2005, writing code of the following languages; ASP.NET, VB.NET. A minimum of 4 years commercial experience is needed.
Much of our work involves the accessing and manipulation of data from a Microsoft SQL Server so Experience of writing stored procedures, views and complex SQL is necessary
Devising and completing test plans to ensure the software has been thoroughly tested.
Core Skills
• At least 4 years of experience of developing high quality ASP.NET and VB.NET
• ASP.NET 2.0, ADO.NET, SQL2000
• Ability to understand and resolve problems at both system and code level
Desirable Skills
• General XML/Web Services Architecture
• SQL 2005
• Crystal Reports
• SQL Reporting Services
• Web design (HTML, Flash, JavaScript)
