Amateur Rugby Union players needed now great facilities

Date posted: Friday 10th October
Location: Kingston Surbiton New Malden Wimbledon

Welcome, and thanks for looking at our ad!

We are Wandsworthians RFC (www.wandsworthians.com) based in New Malden in Surrey, near Kingston. We are a friendly, amateur rugby union club with a lively social scene and have a real mix of players from original school leavers to ex-Kings College players (their college team ground share with us so we get a number of players joining us once they complete studies), a number of Saffa's recruited through Gumtree and word of mouth, some Namibians, a few Welsh - you get the picture

We run two regular teams (1st and 2nd/Vets) and are looking for 1st team players to compete in the Surrey 4 league competition and players of all abilities to play friendlies for the 2nds/Vets team. We never stop looking for new players - the more the merrier! We finished 3rd in the league last season and are aiming for promotion this season - but we need you to do it!

We are based at the Kings College London Sports Grounds in New Malden in Surrey, a great facility with two high-quality pitches, a floodlit training pitch, clubhouse and bar - please see the How to find us page on our website for details and directions.
We are just off the A3 for drivers or Berrylands British Rail station (on a direct rail service from Waterloo via Clapham Junction) is just a 5 minute walk away.

Formal (coached) training is every Tuesday from 7.00pm at the club during the season (1st July onwards) and we also run informal pre-season training sessions at the same time which are now underway. These are just for fun and to keep some level of fitness - footie, touch, rugby netball etc - good fun with the sun out.

Come down and give us a try - here's why!

1) Very reasonable annual subs - we are subsidised by our sponsores to keep rugby affordable to all
2) Students don't pay any annual subs or match fees in their first season
3) Lots of social events locally and an annual rugby tour, open to all
4) Professional coaching from our coaching team who are all ex-club players and strongly linked with the club
5) We're a social club who aim to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of their rugby standard - many do not!

If you would like more information on the club or are interested in becoming a member please contact me at the contact details shown here.

Hope to see you soon,

Mark Callis - Club Captain
