Mathematics Head of Department (Hod)
Head of Department for Mathematics required for excellent school based in North East London.
This is a great opportunity to join a school with brand new facilities. The primary purpose of this role is to provide professional leadership and management for Mathematics and ensure outstanding teaching and learning, high levels of achievement and the active engagement of students. You will also play a significant role in the development of Mathematics as one of the school's specialisms.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for the strategic direction and development of Mathematics; within the context of the school's aims and policies, to develop and implement policies, plans targets and practices.
- Secure and sustain effective teaching of Mathematics, evaluate the quality of teaching and standards of students' achievements and set targets for improvement.
- Leading and managing staff; provide those with involvement in the teaching or support of Mathematics, the support, challenge, information and development necessary to sustain motivation and secure improvement in teaching.
- Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources; identify appropriate resources for Mathematics, ensure they are used efficiently, effectively and safely.

To be suitable for this position you must meet the following criteria:
- QTS
- Excellent Degree
- Ability to teach all Key Stages, particularly KS3
- Relevant specialist qualifications and experience in your subject specialism
- Outstanding classroom practitioner
- Strong experience of teaching Maths
- The full right to work in the UK
- Recognised teaching qualifications
- 2 education related references
- Overseas police check (if applicable)
- A current CRB or willingness to undertake one (A* Star provides FREE CRB checks)
