Indie Rock Bassist urgently needed for Matthew Jure Band (recording and possible U.S. tour)
Brixton-based actor and musician Matthew Jure urgently needs a bassist to complete his band in preparation for recording and a possible small-scale U.S. tour next spring.
Matthew plays rock star Rex Redding in 'Starlight and Superfish', a feature film by Detroit-based production company, The Triumvirate. (The film also stars cast members of 'Arrested Development', 'Desperate Housewives', 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and the Will Smith film, 'Hancock', as well as actors featured in two popular U.S. television series - 'Reno 911' and 'Burn Notice'.)
He has been preparing to record an album ('Ipso') for several months, and the spring 2009 release date for 'Starlight and Superfish' has now created a natural time frame for it to be completed and ready to tour (most likely in Detroit, NY and LA).
To coincide with the film and the album, plans are also afoot for Babyshambles' remixer to produce a new version of 'Shut Out', the opening track on the 'Strap Atom' album by Matthew's 90s band, Ventral.
'Ipso' and 'Shut Out' are to be released online via the Gumbo label, which will be set up by the end of the year.
Matthew needs a reliable indie/rock bassist into artists including: Julian Cope, REM, Blur, The Divine Comedy, Pixies, The Beatles, Radiohead, Neil Young, Snow Patrol, The Verve and Iggy Pop (in whose latest film Matthew has a walk-on role).
