1.0 Introduction

The website offers individuals, developers and estate agents the opportunity to advertise their EcoHomes online. The website can be purchased either as a going concern or for assets. Sale is due to lack of finance (originally a student company launch).



2.0 History

* March 2007: Concept formed and a partnership company set up by two students
* December 2007: Launch of version 1.0 of the website with a free trial period
* January - October 2008: 200 estate agents and developers contacted, with six listings published in the midst of economic downturn
* Feburary 2008: v1.5 of the website launched based on friendly feedback
* October 2008: v2.0 of the website launched based on client feedback
* December 2009: Works starts on version 2.1, but paused due to lack of time and finance
* August 2009: The website and associated rights transferred to the company Redhive



3.0 Statistics

3.1 Revenue

Turnover remains at zero as the website is still offering a free trial, however, there is strong potential for growth considering market size (government aims for all homes to be zero net carbon by 2016).

Potential revenue streams include:

* Charges for publishing adverts
* Advertising space on the website
* Sponsorship for eco-friendly products or partnership with e-conveyancing firm, etc.
* Seminars and articles based upon research and statistics compiled from operation of the website
* Savings compared to alternatives (e.g. purchase by a developer)

3.2 Visitors

* Last six months average: 110 unique visitors per month (no paid advertising campaigns active)
* Peak average: 250 unique visitors per month (January to May 2008 during direct marketing)
* Average cost per click with Google AdWords: £0.56
* Clickthrough rate: 0.24% of page impressions
