Deli and café assistant wanted, Isleworth, near Richmond.

We are a small, friendly cafe and delicatessen near Richmond and Twickenham and are building a reputation for excellent food, locally sourced where possible.

We are looking for reliable, friendly, foodie staff to join us to work serving deli customers, and helping our chef prepare and serve ciabattas, pastas, pizza and other daily specials. You will need to be able to make really good coffee (we’ll teach you how) and use the till.

We need someone who has some food knowledge and most importantly has passion and wants to learn more.

Are you passionate and excited about great food? Do you have previous experience of deli/cafe work? Can you make a really great coffee – or would like to learn how to?

To work with us you need to:

Have a real passion and interest in good food
Be prepared to learn about our selection of foods so that you can talk knowledgeably about them
Be completely reliable (we are too small to cope if people don’t turn up)
Have a food safety certificate or be prepared to take the food safety course online
Be prepared to work some weekends (we are closed Mondays)
Be able to work under pressure – we are getting very popular and busy!
Be able to work as part of a lively, friendly, team
Be a clean and tidy worker
Have an excellent command of the English language
Be legally allowed to work in the UK and be able to provide references.

The deli is easily reached by public transport.

We work a flexible shift system, but always need people over the busiest lunch period. Morning shift: 10 - 3, afternoon 12 til 5ish. We are interested in talking to people for either full time or part-time, week days or weekends.

You need to be available at least until the New Year. This position is temporary, leading to permanent if it suits both parties.
