DEPARTMENT Estate Accounts


1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To prepare accurate Year End Service Charge Accounts in line with current legislation timeframes.

2. POSITION IN ORGANISATION

Reporting to the Senior Estate Accounts Manager.

3. SCOPE OF JOB

Main Responsibilities:

• Analyse costs against budgets and apply accruals and prepayments where applicable.
• Prepare and review draft accounts with the Estate Manager for ultimate sign off by the Regional Estate Manager or Director.
• Adjust year-end accounts with any resulting amendments.
• Preparation of adjustments due to/from the residents from the balancing of the Service Charge Accounts.
• Provide audit packs to the auditors.
• Liaising with auditors to resolve queries.
• Respond to resident and queries in relation their accounts.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Senior Estate Account Manager.
• Prepare (quarterly) and review management accounts.
• Assisting Senior Estate Accounts Manager with new and lost management.
• Assist Property Managers with reserve fund reconciliation.
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.


PERSON SPECIFICATION


JOB TITLE Accounts Administrator

DEPARTMENT Estate Accounts

1. QUALIFICATIONS

GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above in Maths and English.

2. EXPERIENCE

Previous experience of working within an accounting environment producing monthly management accounts or accrual accounts or bookkeeping to trial balance.

3. KNOWLEDGE

• Accounting knowledge to include double entry, accruals and prepayments.
• An understanding of final accounts.
• Experience of management accounting and service charge accounting would be desirable.
• Working knowledge of ECS software would be desirable.

4. TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience of accounting software in particular ECS would be an advantage.

5. PERSONAL QUALITIES

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work methodically, accurately and without supervision.
• Ability to manage and work on multiple tasks.


Salary - £25,000.
