Our client is a world-leading provider of information technology solutions.
ROLE:
To oversee and develop the activities of the following departments:-
a) Financial Accounts Department – responsible for ensuring accurate records are kept of the company's transactions and assets/liabilities, enabling the production of accurate monthly and annual accounts. Also, to develop/maintain an effective framework of financial control over all the companies operations; protecting company assets, maximising revenues/minimising costs and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
b) Responsible for leading the Sarbanes Oxley Programme.
c) Responsible for management of external audit process.
d) Support the UK Mergers and Acquisition Programme.
e) Also to work with Shared Services to ensure Expenses, AP, Fixed Assets and AR services are provided in accordance with SLA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Produce monthly management accounts in accordance with US GAAP accounting policy and produce annual published accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
b) Obtain audit approval for both monthly management and annual statutory accounts.
c) Develop/maintain the companies internal control systems, and obtain audit approval under Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
d) Approve and oversee implementation of, and changes to, core accounting systems; and other systems with Financial implications; in accordance with company policy and US/UK GAAP.
e) Review and approve the company's accounts before transmission to CENV, including verification of assets and liabilities.
f) Ireland office – review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure maintenance and operation of an effective financial control environment.
g) Carry out internal audits in accordance with schedule agreed with the Finance Director, ensuring compliance with company policies, adequate control operation and compliance with GAAP.
h) Sales ledger – ensure that daily receipts are banked, cash allocated and reconciled daily. Ensure that direct debit run takes place weekly.
i) Effectively motivate, train and develop all personnel to ensure job roles are carried out timely, efficiently and in an accurate manner in accordance with policy.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) You must be a qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience (ideally 5+ years).
b) Strong technical knowledge of UK and US Generally Accepted Accounting Practice - GAAP.
c) Strong technical knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and Internal Controls.
