The market in the Middle East is currently going crazy for experienced building services engineers in disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire, Lighting, Sustainability, Acoustics and AutoCAD.

Our clients have worked on, and continue to work on, such iconic projects as the Burj Dubai (the world's tallest man-made structure) - part of the $20billion Downtown project; the ALDAR Project in Abu Dhabi (the largest single building project ever in Abu Dhabi); and also the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, to name but a few.

The salaries being paid are considerably more than in the UK, and have the added advantage of being tax free.

As opposed to the grey outlook for engineering jobs in the UK, the UAE and Middle East economies and engineering projects are booming, and job security is far more assured over there than here.

Add to this the fact that sterling is weakening against nearly all currencies at the moment, and it makes earning money in a foreign currency far more attractive.

Also, most companies offer free flights, accommodation allowances, travel expenses, health cover and all the usual benefits. They also offer "family packages" which means all of these benefits - flights/accommodation/health cover would apply to your immediate family also.

Therefore, if you fancy some sun, earning some good money with far better job security, now is the best time ever to consider your options. It really is a case of making hay whilst the Dubai sun shines as things become more and more grey in the UK (both economically and with winter just around the corner).

Clearly, these opportunities are not going to be there forever, as they are generating a lot of interest from engineers in the UK.
