For a country with the biggest population in the world China remains largely untouched by the West. This beautiful country is steeped in tradition, history and mythology. For those with a passion for culture and a sense of adventure China leaves an indelible mark on all who go there. Come trek China with KIDS!

KIDS works with disabled children, young people and their families. We are dedicated to enabling disabled children and their families to be able to lead happy lives. KIDS works to enhance the lives of disabled children and young people through play, leisure, education and family support.

Our Trek China Team will leave London for China in October 2009 for ten nights.

Stretching 6000km in a dotted line across China, The Great Wall was begun in the 5th Century BC. As it snakes across the mountains it conjures up a sense of history, which is difficult to grasp until you have had the opportunity to experience it.

Our trek along the Great Wall is varied, we will pass through woodland and terraced farmland, and follow the contours of beautiful hills and mountains in the remote areas north of Beijing. We will follow old sections of wall as well as some of the restored sections with smooth flagstones and lots of steps. This challenge is physically demanding, offers fabulous scenery and an insight into the rich culture and history of China. You will experience China as unseen by the average western tourist. We will stay in small villages along the route, eat authentic Chinese food and you will be immersed in the culture all whilst raising funds for KIDS.

Whilst the trek is physically demanding with training you will be able to accomplish this challenge of a lifetime and with a year to fundraise you may even be able to do the trek for free!
