From January a vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Special Needs Teacher to join a very successful, popular and over-subscribed multi-cultural school. The school has a reputation for raising achievement in a calm disciplined environment and has been awarded specialist status as a Business & Enterprise College.
The Learning Support Department will be based in a newly refurbished area and the team consists of SEN, EAL and Learning Mentors and provides learning support across the school through in class support and withdrawal classes. You, the successful candidate should hold a relevant qualification in SEN, but this is not essential, and has experience of supporting young people with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, experience of interagency work, the ability to develop strategies and avoid exclusion and be committed to inclusion.
This is a real opportunity for a unique individual to make an impression and become the missing part of a very successful department. For your services the school offers and effective and supportive induction plan, recently upgraded and expanded ICT facilities, interactive white boards in all classrooms and car parking outside the congestion zone for easy access. Couple this with a vibrant and cohesive Special Needs Co-ordinator and this is one of the top position of the summer.
The school would prefer a teacher with experience of teaching students with SpLD but will consider you if you are a strong candidate who can adapt and is willing to learn and improve.
If you want a new challenge in a department that has strong beliefs in teacher’s further development then this could be the post you’ve been looking for.
