1950's 1960's Vintage G-Plan G Plan E Gomme Oak Sideboard (£240)

You are looking at a stunning genuine G Plan light oak sideboard.

From the very first G Plan range : Brandon. This elegant 1950's sideboard proved a breath of fresh air to the 'modern' homemaker. Standing on splayed legs and finished in a light oak veneer with mahogany interior the design was radical and a million miles away from the traditional dark heavy furniture buyers had been used to. The Brandon range provided the first coherent look for the whole home: dining/living/bed. All elements could be purchased separately allowing buyers to furnish their home piece by piece. This particular sideboard has the optional top section that we very rarely see.

Condition is pure vintage as we have not refinished or carried out any restoration work; I love to see the age on a piece and do not feel that it detracts from the design but rather adds to it. Please see photos for the best description and a clear illustration of any marks that should be noted.

Dimensions:Length 122cm, depth 45cm, height 85cm - 131.5cm.

This is a very attractive original walnut veneered three door G Plan Gomme sideboard / server / dresser of good quality. The sideboard stands on square taper legs rising over which is a single drawer and two doors. Above the cupboards have a single fitted shelf. The sideboard retains its original G Plan E. Gomme gilded impressed mark. Behind the left hand door there is again a single cupboard with a fitted tray. Above is the open plan top with a three quarter width shelf and one quarter width shelf. There are the odd scuff and mark here and there and there is a teacup stain right on the top shelf, but this is not noticeable as it is right at the top. 

t is an excellent example of vintage G-Plan and these pieces are getting rarer to find, a future Mid Century design collectable, so bag it while you can!

The sideboard dates circa 1950s / 1960s.
The sideboard is in good condition for its age, retaining its original finish.  The sideboard splits into two pieces, the upper and lower sections, so easy to move into a small flat.
