Double Room In A M A Z I N G L Y F R I E N D L Y Houseshare Stoke Newington (£570 pcm)
Hello, we’re Rachel, Mark and Phil, we live in a beautiful “upper maisonette” in Stoke Newington with another girl who’s decided to move out on November the 30th so we have a spare rooms to rent from then. We don’t mind for how long you stay in fact we’d welcome short term as well as long…
The House
So it’s a four bedroom place, Victorian and very pretty, it has all the original features (sash windows, nice cornicing etc), pine floorboards in all the rooms, white walls and banisters through-out. To cut it short it’s lovely, we fell in love with it straight away and we’re sure you will too (we have great taste!). BORING PART… It has two bathrooms (one shower, one bath), a kitchen complete with ceiling, walls, a washing machine, a sink, cupboards etc etc; and a fantastic sitting room with chesterfields and a great fireplace (that doesn’t actually work but it looks good). It’ll probably be best to look at the photos…
The Room…
…is about 10*13, have double beds, cupboards and chests of drawers. It faces backwards and so is relatively quiet. Have a look at the photies…
Us
Phil and I (Mark) met ten years ago on our first day at Newcastle Uni and have lived together, on and off, ever since. Phil is a (popular) maths teacher at the local secondary school who loves getting out and about in the open air and paradoxically sleeping on the sofa in equal measure. He also has an incredible DVD collection and has learnt to cook some dishes to perfection. Rachel moved in a few months ago and has fitted in very well, she designs posh shoes in Shoreditch and loves drinking tea in funny-shaped mugs whilst wearing hoodies. I work as an analyst in Clerkenwell and am a huge fan of the park (Clissold) which is just up the road, I’m also a bit of a geek and can’t think of much better than playing Scrabble/backgammon, I love music and go to as many festivals as possible. What else do we like? Chillies, sleeping, sunbathing, cooking, gin, London Fields, cricket, Broadway Market, Fleetwood Mac, geeking off on lap-tops, rambling, The Snooty Fox, and having amazing house parties.
You
We’d love you to have lived in a shared house before and I suppose the most important thing is that you’re a sociable person who wants to socialise with us, cook dinners and go to the pub and most importantly that you don’t spend all of your time in your room. We have an open house where we’re all friends and we want that to continue.
Location, Location, Location…
N16 9AR is just south of Clissold Park, which is beautiful, it’s two miles from Upper Street and London Fields and three miles from town. Buses and bikes are they way to travel (73, 476, 341, 141) but if you have to use the tube Arsenal and Highbury & Islington are easily within walking distance. It’s very Turkish where we live which is great if you like lamb shishes(?) and hooting after Champions’ League football matches. Stoke Newington Church Street is at one end of our street which is great, rammed full of restaurants, bars and pubs.
Money
I think the deposit is £740, the rent is definitely £570 pcm and we pay £100 per month into the house account which covers everything (Sky, internet, water, gas, elec, tax, TV licence, cleaner (legend), cleaning products, I’m boring myself here), so pretty standard really.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you have and leave your number so that I can give you a call if necessary…
Thank you for reading…
Mark
