Do not dress these naked words
In a ribboned ornamental page
For loud applause from the hall
When delivered from the stage,
Better to burn the paper
They are inscribed
To fragments of ash
And make invisibly eyed,
For what are words
But fragments that sound
Then echo into the void
Stuttering to illuminate
The deepest darkness
That knows no bounds,
And as we gather dust
For our own echoing sound
Perchance to see the
The Mind in flames
Without audience or applause
Emblazening the page
Banishing all effect and cause.
