Riba Part i Architect

Riba Part III Architect is now required for a role in Bexley, to assist the Architectural Services Manager in the successful delivery of Architecture and Design related services, ensuring these deliver agreed outcomes and meet the Division's procedures and are well managed and controlled.

The company expends an average of £20m per annum on Capital projects and it is the Division's responsibility to help guide and advise clients, design functional, energy efficient, sustainable and attractive buildings and procure consultant services, if necessary, to help implement these schemes and ensure monies are efficiently and effectively invested.
 
The section currently has an establishment of 9 persons including temporary staff, comprising 2 Surveying, 2 Architectural, 3 Quantity Surveying (2 part time), 2 Clerk of Works and 1 Administrative staff.

The post holder will be expected to manage their own project workload ensuring schemes are developed according to their clients needs, budgets and timescales whilst maintaining excellent relations with the client or client group.
 
All work undertaken to a high standard in accordance with RIBA standards, the management procedures, Council Strategies and the Council's developing sustainability agenda.
 
Decisions will normally be taken without consultation of line management unless there is an issue that cannot be resolved within a reasonable timescale or the issue is beyond the remit of the postholder.
Ideally at least 5 years experience in architecture

Previous local authority experience

Competent in the use of AutoCAD

Ability to produce original and innovative design of high quality

Demonstrable ability to manage a project from inception to delivery

Registered Architect

Qualified to RIBA Part 3
(minimum 7 years training, including five year degree course)
